Plinx Partners with Lynch to Launch MachineSense, Revolutionising Construction Equipment Efficiency

Birmingham, 15th October 2024 – Plinx, a leader in construction technology, is excited to announce the launch of MachineSense in partnership with Lynch, one of the UK’s largest plant hire companies. This launch celebrates Plinx’s 8th birthday and coincides with the opening of Lynch’s state-of-the-art depot in Birmingham, showcasing both companies’ commitment to driving innovation in the construction industry.

MachineSense, developed over four years, addresses key challenges in equipment management—safety, efficiency, and sustainability. After two years of testing with Lynch, it has been refined to deliver real-time insights and fleet-wide data visibility, helping contractors optimise performance and reduce downtime.

“Partnering with Lynch for the launch of MachineSense is an exciting step in our mission to revolutionise how construction teams manage risk and operate on-site,” said Tommy Williams, CEO and Founder of Plinx. “Lynch’s new state-of-the-art depot is the perfect backdrop for showcasing the future of construction technology—delivering faster, smarter, and safer results for contractors.”

Key Features of MachineSense:

  • Real-Time Data: Immediate insights into machine performance and site progress.
  • Unplanned Downtime Reduction: Identify issues early, preventing costly delays.
  • Enhanced Operator Feedback: Address problems such as speeding, idling, and misuse in real time.
  • Event-Based Video Capture: Record short video clips when key events occur, providing visual evidence and supporting data analysis.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Proactively alert operators to unauthorised use or violations, reducing the risk of fines and non-compliance issues.
  • Unconscious Idling Prevention: Reduce fuel consumption and emissions by tracking and preventing unnecessary idling.
  • Sustainability: Improve fuel efficiency, cut emissions, and contribute to greener operations by addressing wasteful equipment practices.
  • Safety Alerts: Enhance safety by preventing machine misuse, such as operating in unauthorised areas.

Lynch is proud to be the first plant hire company to integrate MachineSense into its fleet. Merrill Lynch, Joint Managing Director, commented,

“Partnering with our supply chain to bring the latest innovations to our valued customers is something we are very passionate about. We take pride in being at the forefront of industry-leading technology, and expanding the offerings available to our customers. We know that data-driven decisions are the best and are happy to partner with Plinx on their mission to provide data that does more.”

The launch at Lynch’s Birmingham depot marks a significant step in the construction industry’s journey towards data-driven decision-making and improved operational efficiency.
