Platform Product lead

What will you be working on?

The Affect platform is the main interface between the data that our products produce and the person responsible for improving, Safety, productivity or Carbon performance on site. The platform combines sophisticated mapping views with data. As a result the platform is key to our customers extracting value from the sensors on-site and a very important piece of the PLINX system, one that we need to continuously improve.

The Role:

Working as part of the TechTeam and leading development of the web platform, the Platform Lead will be responsible for driving forwards and continuously improving all elements of the platform and its associated web functions. The Platform Lead will be responsible for scoping, planning and building new and improving existing functionality, the Platform Lead will work closely with the CEO, Tech, Site and Growth teams. In addition to a hands-on activities to start, the Platform Lead will take strategic ownership of the web platform and in time, will be responsible for expanding the team beneath them. Working arrangements are flexible, although we would prefer the role will be based between the Malvern Head office / remote (Home based)

The Platform must have:

  • Strong technical skills (JavaScript / Linux / API / PostgreSQL / Git / Jira)
  • Experience in a software development role, ideally within industrial products.
  • Proven experience of project management (Agile or similar)
  • Proven experience of setting and delivering a tech strategy (roadmap)
  • Proven track record in team management
  • A Degree in a relevant subject Construction/industrial technology experience

Hardware Engineer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced electronics hardware engineer to enjoy working on a broad product range within a high-growth construction-tech startup with a growing team and contributing to an award winning solution used by the UK’s largest construction companies.

What will you be working on?

The PLINX system Is designed to protect the personnel on site while collecting data used to continuously improve operations in construction. Our hardware ranges from small battery powered products to industrial 5G private networks. We design all our own hardware in house and even produce some low volume products. We work closely with our diverse external supply chain to deliver high-volume products, all produced in the UK.

The Role:

Working as part of the TechTeam with a focus on hardware development, the Electronics Hardware Engineer will be responsible for driving forwards new projects and continuously improving existing products. The candidate will enjoy a mix of practical and theory work, working within Altium Designer in the office and hands-on alongside the production engineer in the lab. The successful candidate will work closely with the rest of the Tech team, Site and Growth teams and well as external production houses, suppliers and compliance test houses.

It’s a good time to join PLINX, we are currently expanding the electronics team and equipment including SMT machines for small prototype and production runs in house.

Working arrangements are flexible, although we would prefer the role will be based between the Malvern Head office / remote (Home based)

The Person:

The Electronics Design Engineer must have:

  • Experience in an electronics hardware design role, ideally within industrial or consumer products relatable to PLINX.
  • Experience with schematic design and PCB layout tools, Altium Designer
  • Experience with low power radio products is preferable but not required.
  • Understanding of basic C programming is preferable.
  • A candidate with a strong interest in technology
  • The ability to pick up new technology quickly.
  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Construction/industrial technology experience

Production Engineer

What will you be working on?

Working as part of the TechTeam with a focus on production, the Electronics Production Engineer will be responsible for assembly of prototypes and small runs of production products while helping to improve designs and processes. The role is lab based, working with soldering and test equipment. The candidate will be responsible for continuously improving production processes and maintaining component stock levels. The candidate will work closely with the both the product and electronics design team.

It’s a good time to join PLINX, we are currently expanding the electronics team and equipment including SMT machines for small prototype and production runs in house.

The Person:

The Electronics Production Engineer must have:

  • Experience in soldering across a broad range of components of all sizes.
  • Experience reading and revising schematics and assembly instructions.
  • Experience with test equipment, voltage loggers, multi-meter, oscilloscopes
  • A candidate with a strong interest in technology
  • The ability to pick up new technology quickly.
  • Construction/industrial technology experience (a nice to have)
